In collaboration with the IOC, and OBS, Samsung Galaxy technology will provide fans around the world with a new, up-close view of the world’s greatest athletes during the Games.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, announced its plan to transform the Paris 2024 broadcast experience for viewers and fans with its most sophisticated mobile technology and 5G connectivity, drawing viewers closer to the Opening Ceremony on the Seine River and the Olympic Games’ sailing competitions.
Galaxy S24 Ultra: A Front-Row Seat to the Games
For Paris 2024, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the soul of innovation from Samsung. There will be over 200 of these devices directly mounted on the athlete boats during the Opening Ceremony for the first time in world history, filming this historic moment in high-quality HDR. This will be live-streamed via a private 5G network specially provided by Orange, the official mobile network provider of Paris 2024. The same technology will be deployed for the sailing competitions in Marseille, putting fans directly into the race action with their favorite Olympians.
To ensure video quality and connectivity performance to remain intact, considering all kinds of water and weather conditions in absonance, Samsung worked closely with OBS and Orange. How it improved such challenges as wind, waves, and extreme temperatures was by using the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s optical image stabilization features, increasing transmission power, and place relay towers on chase boats.
