Xiaomi is launching the Smart Band 9 this week. Its predecessor was released last year, and compared with that one, nothing has changed much in the design area. As far as upgrades go, though, the new model brings several. Of course, the most critical would be in display brightness and battery life.

The Band 9 is fitted with an area of 1.62 inches and an AMOLED display that offers a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It supports a refresh rate of 60Hz and provides better sunlight visibility. Besides, it is rated 5ATM in terms of water resistance and features Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
The battery life of the Smart Band 9 gets a significant boost. It is equipped with a 233mAh battery to extend life up to 21 days, further extending life. With Always-On Display, though, the battery lasts nine days. This step-up offers more usage time than last year’s model.
For health tracking, it has a heart rate sensor and a blood oxygen sensor. More than 150 sports modes are available to keep tabs on several workouts. These features raise the wearable’s potential in tracking and supporting your fitness goals.
The Smart Band 9 is coming on August 15, 2024. Xiaomi’s store in Seremban has just confirmed the retail price at RM199. It is the same as the launch price of the previous Smart Band 8. It will also be made available on Shopee, alongside the Redmi Buds 6 Active.
