In order to better serve its customers, CIMB Malaysia is actively working to implement Apple Pay. As you may know, Apple Pay is officially launched last week in Malaysia. So far, three major banks in Malaysia namely AmBank, Maybank and Standard Chartered have confirmed that they support Apple pay on their platforms.

Following the introduction of CIMB OCTO, CIMB also announced that Apple Pay support for CIMB cards is forthcoming, although it will be some time before CIMB customers can add their cards. Group Chief Technology & Data Officer of CIMB Malaysia, Ros Yusoff, has stated that Apple Pay functionality is scheduled to roll out in the second half of 2023.

At the moment, CIMB is giving its commitment to further improving its new mobile app, CIMB OCTO which might be the replacement for the current CIMBClicks. But, users are still advised to continue using CIMBClicks for any transaction process.

As some of you might be aware, CIMB currently supports Samsung Pay, and both credit cards and prepaid cards can be used with it. Therefore, we can assume that the bank probably wouldn’t take too long before bringing Apple Pay to its customers.
