After Meta’s announcements at Meta Connect 2024, this is brewing into a competition in AI wearables. Both companies Apple and Meta desire modification of user experience in both virtual and physical spaces. These conditions provoke determinate questions about the possible Apple’s reaction to Meta’s progress.

Meta has recently updated Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. These glasses enshrine special capabilities that enable the user to capture photos as well as live stream a video without holding a shoot in their hands. By so doing, the control of the device is enhanced by the use of voice control. These glasses have conversational interaction with Meta AI assistants for different requests using this AI technology. However, they are just the beginning, and the Orion smart glasses, offer more functions for the network.
Orion smart glasses will allow a person to integrate the physical environment with digital information. This feature features a holographic model ensuring it is highly interactive for the consumer. On the other side, it is predicted that Apple plans to integrate AI into the next-gen AirPods Pro. The concept is not about capturing visuals but gaining more context about the surroundings.

A few rumors about AirPods Pro are that it might have infrared cameras to help interpret space. Instead of capturing pictures, they would enhance the orientation and the health monitoring facilities. Only in this way there can be improved gesture control and awareness of the environment. Further, they would complement the spatial audio in Apple’s Vision Pro headset.
Competing Approaches in AI Wearables

The competition shows customers how AI wearables have contrasting approaches to promoting health. The idea of Meta’s glasses is to capture and, if necessary, share experiences visually. Apple’s AirPods, in contrast, are about the passive input to the AI assistant that will do most of the work. They seem to strike a balance between satisfying users’ personalized needs in technology wearables.
While Meta’s Orion glasses attempt to bridge the digital and physical environment, Apple’s AirPods improve spatial knowing. In addition, both approaches are indicative of the increasing role of presence in technology-driven environments. While writing this paper the integration of AirPods with Apple’s ecosystem could offer special benefits in intelligent interfaces.
