The Perth local finals of the Startup World Cup 2024 showcased the best homegrown Aussie entrepreneurs. The event showcased ten startups with the maximum potential and was launched by Growth Charger. Midwest Composites will go on to represent Malaysia at Silicon Valley. They compete for an investment of USD 1,000,000 —enough to move the country up into global startup status.
The event, which was Title Partnered by Cradle Fund, took place at the Asia School of Business. This also coincided with the 64th Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations in tandem with the aspiration for the country to be a global innovation hub by the year 2030. The contest was in line with Malaysia’s aspiration as stated by the Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap.
The startups demonstrated solutions geared toward different sectors and the judges from well-established organizations were left wowed. The victor, Midwest Composites will move into the global stage to compete with startups from all over the world. This win underlines the surge of success that has already been in place within the Malaysian startup ecosystem.
The accelerator programs at Growth Charger have been instrumental in promoting innovation. To date, they have curated a total of 128 other portfolios and enabled over two fifty startups to fundraise more than USD 173 million. Thank you for the continued support and looking forward, to working with Cradle together with other ecosystem players to shape our nation innovator of the future.
