Meta has announced it has collaborated with RayBan in delivering smart glasses. There are numerous new features in these new RayBan smart glasses which makes them more innovative than the Vision Pro from Apple. As has been seen Apple’s Vision Pro has limited interactive experience while Meta’s glasses offer relatively contemporary uses.
Knowing that Meta is moving forward, Apple has started corresponding research on smart glasses within the company. As of now, Apple’s project is purely in the research stage, and there is no indication when we might see it on the market.
The first model of smart glasses designed by Meta primarily featured simple applications such as music and video players. In 2024, Meta Company started Project Orion, which provided more extension to the product through features such as a small projector for Screen display. This projector adds value to the user because it can relay basic information on the screen.
To date, Meta has not revealed when it will be releasing Orion into the market. what this development highlights is Meta’s focus on the advancement of wearable devices. Smart glasses are on the horizon and in the future they shall redesign how the world uses information-enhancing capability-communicational gadgets.
