Rakuten Kobo announced that its current line-up of eReaders is now officially available in Malaysia. Among these are the Nia, Libra 2 and Sage models, as well as the recently announced Clara 2E for the global market.
To start, each Kobo eReader has built-in Wi-Fi and an E Ink-based touchscreens, which uses less power than traditional LCD or AMOLED displays and is therefore ideal for use in portable devices. The company claims this allows for a battery life that can be used for several weeks.

The Kobo Nia has a Micro USB port, 8 GB of storage space, a 900 MHz processor, and a 6-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 758 pixels.
On the other hand, touchscreens on the Sage and Libra 2 measure 8 inches and 1440 by 1920 pixels, while those on the Libra 2 measure 7 inches and 1264 by 1680 resolution touchscreen. Moreover, both have 32GB of storage, but the former has a quad-core processor running at 1.8 GHz and the latter has a single-core processor running at 1 GHz.
Moving on to Kobo Clara 2E, the device has several capabilities introduced by Kobo in its higher-end e-readers, such as Bluetooth connectivity, expanded storage capacity, and USB-C charging. The Clara 2E is also the first time Kobo has used recycled plastics as the primary source of their gadgets.
In fact, the new e-reader’s body is made up of 85% recycled plastics, with 10% coming from the ocean. In addition, this model has a 1 GHz processor, and 16 GB of storage space that can carry as many as 12 thousand electronic books or around 75 Kobo Audiobook files that can be accessed at any time with a built-in speaker and a 6-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1448 x 1072 pixels.
