Oppo is introducing something new to its Find X8 series, a new camera shutter button. Lately, Zhou Yibao a product manager on Weibo demonstrated this feature as a rival to Apple’s newest iPhone 16. This button is a guarantee of comfort, it will be an advantage, especially to those who use their smartphones to capture images.
Unlike Apple’s approach, Oppo has integrated the shutter button as pressure-sensitive making it better for the users. Zhou adds that double-tap would be used for launching the camera directly with the help of this interface even if the phone is locked. A single touch captures a shot, while a swipe enables easy control of zoom.
The Find X8 button is waterproof with an IP68/IP69 rating which means users can capture moments without much difficulty. This feature increases versatility which none of the Sony Xperia models having physical shutter buttons have adopted yet.
Its team spent months fine-tuning the pressure sensitivity for stabilized photography. According to Zhou, the button location is appropriate, regardless of the orientation whether in the portrait or landscape mode to avoid shaking.
In addition to the camera, there is a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display and a 5,600mAh battery in the Oppo Find X8. It also supports 80W fast charging and MagSafe-inspired magnetic wireless charging, and it also has a feature similar to the recently released Dynamic Island which makes it a serious contender to the iPhones.
Oppo Find X8 series might be available in Malaysia soon. Rumors started appearing online after a listing from the SIRM database was sighted. As this device is yet to be officially released globally this October, Oppo fans have reason to look forward to this smartphone.
