In this recent times Google has been developing tons of new useful features for its users. If you notice now, most of the smartphones supports the AR (Augmented Reality). With the AR technology, you can do wonders with your smartphone. Now, Google is really making use of the AR technology thoroughly. Today, Google announces a new feature in its blog post.
This new feature is mainly for all the women who wear makeup. With this new Google feature, you can easily try to put on makeup before purchasing the product. We are pretty sure that most of the women are excited about this feature because this will be really useful for them. Especially during this pandemic period, women don’t have to go out of their house to buy their makeup products. Rather they can just simply sit at home and use the new Google shopping feature to try the makeup.
In this beginning stage, Google Product Manager for Shopping, Archana Kannan says that this new feature will only support limited makeup products only such as lipstick and eyeshadows. Google is mainly focussing on limited brands too which are L’Oreal, MAC Cosmetics, Black Opal and Charlotte Tilbury. We can expect Google to be adding more cosmetic products in the coming months.
How the Google makeup feature works?
At the moment of writing this post, we can say that this feature is not rolled out globally yet. If you are from the United States of America, then you can easily try this feature by heading to the Google app on your smartphone. Then, you can simply search for either the lipstick product or eyeshadow product.
For example, in case you are looking for MAC lipstick, you can search for “MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick”. Once you search for the following result, you should be able to view a new “Try it on” button on top. By tapping the button, the AR feature will be activated and then you can select different shades in the collection of MAC lipsticks. Here’s a sample of how you can try different lipstick shades before purchasing it.
According to Archana Kannan, Google is working with its data partners ModiFace and Perfect Corp in order to give women a perfect makeup trying experience. That’s the reason, lipstick and eyeshadows are very accurate.
Moving forward, women don’t have to head to the physical stores itself. They can easily use this new Google shopping feature to try the makeup products before making the purchase.
