Apple is rumored to come up with three new earbuds and one headphone as a part of its AirPods lineup. These fourth-generation AirPods and AirPods Max models are expected at Apple’s September 2024 event, alongside the iPhone 16 series. The new AirPods lineup will include two new “base” models and a refreshed AirPods Pro model.

The fourth-generation AirPods will come in two models, one of the variants will have active noise cancellation. As it stands, this becomes the cheapest model with ANC. These AirPods will also pack Apple’s H2 chip and will support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for improved performance. The new models will also feature a USB-C port instead of a Lightning connector.
An all the new AirPods lineup with improved Active Noise Cancellation and head gesture controls will also be introduced, enabling users to pick up or reject calls by simply nodding or shaking their heads. But AirPods Max is going to get the first refresh in almost four years, so it could finally see a USB-C port, an H2 chip, and support for Bluetooth 5.3.
If you were looking to buy new AirPods, it’s worth holding off until Apple makes its announcements. The event planned for September 2024 will bring in some nice upgrades to the AirPods family, with added features and increased performance.
