Facebook agrees storing ‘millions’ of plaintext passwords

Last month, Krebs on Security finds that millions of Facebook user passwords and thousands of Instagram user passwords are stored in plaintext. Today, Facebook corrects their fact by saying “millions” of Instagram users password is stored a plaintext instead of thousands.

According to Facebook spokespeople, Facebook discovers additional logs of Instagram passwords stored in plaintext. In the blog post, he said, this has impacted millions of Instagram users. Facebook is already working on notifying each of the users who have been impacted by this issue. Even now, Facebook is denying none of these plaintext passwords are accessed by its employees.

In conclusion, if you affected by this issue, then surely Facebook will notify you to change your password. Recently, Facebook is facing a lot of issues which are related to users privacy. It all started with the Cambridge Analytica issue, where they use the app to hijack 87 million private details of users.
