With the latest HUAWEI Mate 50 series, HUAWEI introduces EMUI 13, a new generation of intelligent operating systems designed with consumer experience at its heart.

Using HUAWEI’S proprietary distributed technology, EMUI 13 is designed to enhance the overall experience by providing leading capabilities from end-to-end, delivering interconnected, flexible and reliable all-scenario new interactive experience. It connects users’ devices and coordinates their tasks – creating a wholly immersive digital world tailored to users’ needs.

Faster and more efficient, EMUI 13 introduces a new generation of features to match the new generation of smartphones in order to enhance the overall digital experience for users. These smart capabilities help to simplify the use of smart devices allowing users to better manage apps and content.

Smart Personalised Interaction

EMUI 13 introduces new ways to access and interact with information on your home screen via the new Service Widgets. With Service Widgets and the new Card Folder, EMUI 13 introduces personalisation options, enabling an endless combination of widgets bringing new shapes and sizes to help users create their unique, personalised home screens.

With the new Service Widget function, users can briefly view in-app information or services without having to open the app itself. By swiping up on certain app icons, users can generate Service Widgets for the apps, and then pin them on the home screen, or tap any vacant location to hide them. These functions ensure the viewing and managing of in-app information and services in an easy and efficient way.

The SuperStorage Feature Will Save Your Storage Space

HUAWEI introduces SuperStorage, the industry’s first hyperspace storage compression technology, expanding more smartphone storage space for users.

Apart from providing more storage space, SuperStorage helps users manage their saved content to maximise storage space. Through the SuperStorage function, duplicated files are automatically detected and flagged to the user. This includes content that is sent from third-party apps such as the same photo sent from different chat platforms. SuperStorage will automatically detect duplicate files, and users can choose to compress duplicate files in the HUAWEI Optimiser app.

Hence, this feature allows you to free up storage space by stacking duplicate files, compressing less-used apps, and eliminating unnecessary downloads. At the same time, these measures will not affect the normal use of the device by the user.

SuperHub Solution To Improve Efficiency

Users often encounter scenarios where they need to transfer files between different applications and devices, but they also come across inconveniences such as repeatedly switching between applications to access the content, as well as the inability to batch and process large numbers of file transfers.

SuperHub will allow users to share files to any app or connected device by just dragging a file to SuperHub and paste it. Users can find, reuse and delete previously pasted and shared content with remarkable ease. It improves efficiency and avoids the process of users switching back and forth between multiple applications and duplicating them.

Want to share music with your friend from a smartphone? With EMUI 13, users can just connect the FreeBuds devices and share up to two earbuds at the same time while also controlling the volume level. EMUI 13 brings the ability to connect two HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 simultaneously – enabling audio sharing between earbuds in an easy and convenient way.

Tap on the Share Audio in the Audio Control Panel, open the second pair of HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 within 10 cm of the HUAWEI Mate 50 series, and the smartphone will automatically search for the earbuds and connect to share the audio. While wearing HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2, users can also connect with the smartphone just by walking close to the target device. A pop-up notification will appear to confirm the connection.

Provides You with More Control Over Your Privacy And Safety

Last but not least, HUAWEI has always regarded network security and privacy protection highly through industry-leading innovative technologies.

Therefore, EMUI 13 operating system further enhances user privacy and security, making application permission access, device security status more transparent and controllable, and user data protection simpler and more secure.

The Privacy Center function provides users with a general dashboard to view all application behaviours. Proactive privacy protection is constantly enforced, providing users with suggestions against these risky applications. When an application is deemed to use permission unreasonably, Privacy Center will recommend users revoke their permissions.

Furthermore, the Security Center provides users with an overall security portrait of the device. When users open the Security Center, they can check the current security situation of the device at any time, such as App Lock, Password Vault, File Safe, Find Device and more. It actively identifies problems and responses to various situations. Following that, the Security Center will then provide appropriate device protection recommendations.

Lastly, EMUI 13 provides an Image Privacy Protection function, which can erase sensitive information from pictures with one tap. For more information on EMUI 13, please visit the HUAWEI Official Website.
