A new direction for Casio is the CRW-001-1JR, a smart ring watch for convenience. But unlike traditional wearables that come in the form of bands, this product worn around your finger is a ring. First, most of these apparatuses are quite small, with a screen size of less than an inch. Nonetheless, they have multiple functions.

A Smart Ring Watch for Modern Convenience

The CRW-001-1JR on the other hand comes with three buttons for controlling different operations. Users are also able to toggle between the display of time only, date only, or time in another time zone. This is in addition to the stopwatch feature, which is only a step below the features offered by an ordinary wristwatch.

Besides, the ring watch has a light and an alarm. Unlike wristwatches, sound is not produced by the alarm which is an integral part of it. Unlike those that use audible alarms to notify users, it applies a glowing screen. This offers another, less obtrusive approach to doing so!

This watch uses a replaceable battery that would last a user about two years. It is also water resistant and thus suitable for use daily. Alone such features cumulatively provide a solution that is powerful, rich in features yet highly portable in nature.

However, it has a single version in terms of size measure, and that is the 20mm size of the Casio CRW-001-1JR. Some people with big fingers might also find it to be the case. However, there are spacers available for the reduction of size to 19mm or 18mm in the case of narrow fingers hence flexibility in the choice of size.

Due for launch in December, the Casio CRW-001-1JR is available at JPY 19,800 (~RM571). Currently, it is present on Casio’s website for Japan only so it remains to be seen whether it will be launched internationally. Look out for this great little gadget as it makes good sense connected with Casio with its little splash of design.
