Apple Watch SE 2024 Upgrade with New Plastic Design

Apple is readying an updated model of the Apple Watch SE. It might signal a change to “rigid plastic” in its design. A launch may come with the release of the iPhone 16 series. Further democratization of the watch, making it more affordable and desirable, is likely with the upcoming move. In terms of the design, several possibilities for changing materials to plastic would open up. In so many ways, that veers from the rather muted colors of current models.

The Watch SE has formed the affordable end of Apple’s offerings since its introduction in 2020, which featured the same screen as that year’s Series 6. More to the point, though, it lacked features such as an Always-On Display and ECG support. The 2022 model upgraded the processor and switched to a nylon composite back. Still missing out were many of the latest health features.

According to Gurman, the next Watch SE might come with a new plastic body. It would probably reduce production costs for Apple, and then it would be able to sell a greater number of colors. Those colors could be more energetic to young users who love vivid device designs.

It may also maintain the price at its current level of $249 ~RM1,097. Apple might add features such as ECG support or always-on display. Or maybe it could just go with what’s there and drop the price. Who knows? That is just a rumor.

As always, it’s best to take things with a grain of salt until the official announcements are made. This refresh of the Apple Watch SE really could be a game-changer.
