Apple announces Apple TV+ with premium service subscription

As Apple sent out the invitation email for yesterdays event, Apple adds the tagline “It’s show time”. Yesterday, Apple announced the most awaited streaming service, that’s the Apple TV+. It seems Apple is currently focusing on producing original contents as Netflix does. Apple is also looking forward to producing exclusive original TV shows.

During the event yesterday, Apple brought some of the most famous artists to the stage to talk about the shows they are working on. One of them is Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Resse Witherspoon, and Oprah Winfrey. All of the other artists such as J.J. Abrams, M. Night Shyamalan, came to the stage to update on the shows they are working on too. According to Steven Spielberg, he gave an update on the show he is directing now which will be shown exclusively on the new Apple TV+.

Apart from that, Apple is also updating the Apple TV app. The new Apple TV has a new interface where all the contents are on one page. Apple also is introducing the new Apple TV channels where you can watch videos on demands for TV shows, movies, sports, news and network TV from cable and satellite providers.

Apple announces that its users can subscribe to the TV channels as ala carte. This means nothings comes in a package. As for now, the Apple TV channels has HBO, CBS, MTV Hits and SHOWTIME. Apple also told that the new Apple TV will suggest movies and shows from Amazon Prime and Hulu. At this moment, Apple has not include Netflix as part of the streaming service.

The new Apple TV will be supporting all the iOS and Mac devices and for the first time, it’s coming to the Smart TVs such as Samsung, LG, and Sony. The new Apple TV+ will be available in May and it will come to the smart TV’s later this year.

In conclusion, we believe that the new Apple TV could be competing with the most famous streaming service Netflix. At this moment, we don’t know yet on the availability in Malaysia. Let’s wait till Apple updates us on the new Apple TV+.
