This year might be the year for foldable smartphones seeing that many mobile manufacturers started to produce their own line of foldable and now, Xiaomi decided to take the same road. The tech giant recently launched its new foldable flagship smartphone known as MIX Fold 2.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 represents a significant technological advancement in the ultra-slim foldable smartphone market. With a folded size of just 5.4mm1, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 provides a consistent viewing experience on both its inner and outer displays. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragonยฎ 8+ Gen 1 and equipped with 4,500mAh Battery that supports 67W wired turbo charging.
The foldable features an inner folding design with two AMOLED flagship screens of varying sizes on each side. The outer display has a 21:9 classic ratio design, which allows for excellent compatibility with most applications while also considering user experience when handling. The 6.56″ display is made of Samsung E5 material, has a resolution of 2520×1080, a 120Hz high refresh rate, a P3 colour gamut, and a brightness of up to 1000nit, giving it an advantage over other common displays due to its excellent user experience.
Moreover, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has an 8.02″ Samsung Eco2 OLED display on the inside. It employs POL-LESS technology, which replaces the traditional polarizer with an ultra-thin colour filter and employs a black matrix material to reduce screen reflection. This display has a resolution of 2160×1914, P3 colour gamut support, and LTPO 2.0 1-120Hz AdaptiveSync Pro. The display’s ultra-low anti-AR film reduces reflectivity to less than 2%, resulting in a more detailed viewing experience.
As for the camera, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 comes with a 50-megapixel IMX766 main camera and 7P lenses with ALD low-reflection coating. A 13MP ultra-wide angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and portrait capabilities are also included. The device features two photographic styles: “Leica Authentic Look” and “Leica Vibrant Look,” both of which give the photographer more creative freedom.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will be available in three storage variants:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – CNY 8,999
- 128GB RAM + 521GB storage – CNY 9,999
- 128GB RAM + 1TB storage – CNY 11,999
