Sony has just announced its latest high-end Sony headphones called the MDR-M1. Fit somewhere between the MDR-7506 and the MDR-V1 studio monitor headphones, Meant for Musicians and sound engineers, they provide precise sound production and monitoring. The closed-back design gives you better sound isolation than active noise-cancelling headphones.

The MDR-M1 headphones were crafted by Sony in collaboration with leading sound engineers. With experts like Mike Piacentini and Akihiro Nishimura in tow, the headphones deliver an impressive true high-fidelity audio experience. The partnership intends to provide an “elite” quality of sound in multiple settings.

You have the consumer-grade look modeled after Sony’s own WH-1000XM4 series of headphones. Even so, they are designed for studio use. Comfort is a priority for long wear during those marathon studio sessions. Tracking with ease & precision for musicians as well as engineers.
An impressive frequency response from 5Hz to 80kHz is also available with the MDR-M1. This topped the MDR-7506’s 10Hz to 20kHz range. The new driver design provides an open and transparent playback, even at low and high frequencies. Meanwhile, the technology in Sony’s headphones provides “less distortion at all volumes”.
Finally, the MDR-M1 does not feature any noise-canceling functionalities due to its closed-back design, which provides great sound isolation. The design makes it possible to listen critically in a busy or noisy environment. The headphones also work great with Sony’s 360 Virtual Mixing Environment service.
You can pick up the new Sony headphones now from either Sony’s official website or at authorized dealers for RM1,199. At its price range, the MDR-M1 is a fantastic value for professionals.
