The Redmi A4 is a new budget smartphone for basic usage that has been launched officially in India. It comes as the upgraded model to the Redmi A3 that the company unveiled earlier in the year. It retains a symmetric body but replaces a camera island with a circular rounded one that holds dual main lenses.
Redmi A4 has a large display of 6.88 inches with an HD+ LCD that makes the user experience all the better. It backs a 120Hz refresh rate that makes scrolling and animating on the phone seamless. Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 is an extraordinary device for providing efficient performance.
The smartphone boasts 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage is available. It’s driven by a 5160 mAh battery and features 18W fast charging with USB-C fast charging capability, however, the supplied charger is 33W for added versatility.
A four primary camera is the 50MP main camera on Redmi A4 allows high-quality images to be captured. The front facing camera is integrated with an 8MP to reproduce the best selfies yet. Other features include water Resistance up to IP52, a headphone Jack of 3.5 mm, and Speake Mono.
To provide a modern OS, the device comes equipped with HyperOS built on Android 14 base. The software updates promise are quite generous, Redmi offers two years of software updates and four years of security patches. This would however make sure the device is usable and safe for use in the long run.
As for now, the Redmi A4 can only be bought in India and there have been no unveiled plans for its international release. It caters to users who want an affordable device while not getting a dilute basic functionality.
