When we say Tinder, all of you know it as the world’s most popular dating app. Back in 2012 when Tinder launches, no one expected this dating app will be so popular until now Tinder is already ready to go public. Now, Tinder is going to launch the lighter version of its dating app. It is going to be called as “Tinder Lite”. This app mainly offers a smaller size and the features are reduced in this version.

Recently, most of the tech companies such as Google and Facebook are launching their own Lite applications. These applications are specifically for Asian countries such as India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. For example, Facebook creates its own Lite version of its Facebook application. Even Google launches its own Lite versions as “Go” apps such as Google Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go and Google Assistant Go. Apart from these companies, even Instagram and Twitter also have its Lite version of its applications. Recently, Spotify also launches its own Spotify Lite for Malaysia.

Tinder believes now is the right time to launch a Lite version of the Tinder app as it is already gaining a lot of tractions and growth. During the Q1 earning Tinder announces it has 4.7 millions of paid subscribers. Its parent company Match Group announces the plan for Tinder Lite during the earning calls with investors. As for now, its CEO Mandy Ginsberg says the Tinder Lite app is coming soon.

According to her, Tinder Lite will be a smaller app to download. It will take less space on the phone. Users who are in staying in rural areas, they can download this lighter version and find their match mate. So when you download the Tinder Lite, Tinder says it will remove some of the heavier features. This is because it is focussing on the core feature which is swiping and matches. At this moment, Tinder didn’t reveal which feature will be included in the slimmed version.

In conclusion, Ginsberg believes the growth in the Asia Pacific will increase by 2023 through the Tinder Lite app. Are you still single? Just wait for Tinder to launch this version and you can start to find your date easily.
