Samsung has officially launched its latest budget smartphone – the Galaxy A06. Priced at RM449, it’s affordable and, therefore, cheaper than the predecessor. The price cut is justified since the specifications remain almost the same. For one, Samsung added a fingerprint sensor, which was quite noticeably missing in the A05.
For whatever it is worth, the Galaxy A06 puts up the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset; compared to other handsets in the same segment, the performance isn’t all that bad. You get 128GB of expandable storage but a less-than-ideal 4GB RAM – lower than the 6GB RAM on the A05. It comes with a 6.7-inch 720p LCD fitted with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz – adequately sufficient for viewing.
In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy A06 features a 50MP primary shooter tagged along with a 2MP depth sensor. It also features an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The device gets a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support that can keep it running easily throughout the day.
From 6 September to 30 September 2024, every purchase of the Galaxy A06 comes with a free 25W charging adapter. Additionally, users get an extended one-year warranty free of cost to add more value to the budget phone. Samsung introduces the phone in three colors to suit different tastes of styles.
