Realme vs Xiaomi: Who to announce the 64MP camera this week

A few days ago, we quote that Realme will be introducing the world’s first 64MP quad-camera technology on August 8. However, things are changing now as its competitor Xiaomi’s sub-brand has sent out media invites to launch the world’s first 64MP camera technology. Redmi will host the event on August 7, which is a day before Realme plans to announce the 64MP quad-camera technology.

During the event, we can expect Redmi to demonstrate camera capabilities. Xiaomi will be organizing the event at its image processing laboratory. This is where the whole engineers are working on the 64MP camera technology. At this moment, it is still unclear whether we can expect a Redmi smartphone during the event on Wednesday.

Both Realme and Redmi will be using Samsung’s GW1 image sensor for its smartphone. The 64MP image sensor is currently the highest camera sensor Samsung has created for a smartphone. It uses the Tetracell technology, where you can get a brighter 16MP images under low light situations and crystal clear 64MP images in daylight shots.
