A week ago, Realme posted a tweet with a photo which teases the launch of two Realme smartphones which are Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. Yesterday, Flipkart shares Realme official teaser page where you can get a glimpse of the Realme 5 series smartphones. Today, Realme has taken the stage to unveil the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro to its audience.
The first phone it launches is Realme 5. This device is said to be the affordable Realme 5 series smartphone. Despite being affordable, Realme 5 features a quad-camera setup and huge battery too. We will further analyse on all the specs of the Realme 5.
Realme 5 Specs
On the front of Realme 5 is the 6.5″ HD+ LCD display which has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. It has an 89% screen-to-body ratio with a tiny notch at the top where the 13MP selfie camera is located. With the 13MP front selfie camera, you can take crispy portrait photos easily.
The back of the Realme 5 features a crystal design with a gradient holographic effect. Our first impression looking at the back of this phone is very similar to the Vivo S1 which was launched last month. It is really surprising to see an affordable smartphone to have a quad-camera. Most of the times only high-end smartphones come with a quad-camera however this time Realme is changing it.
The topmost is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens which able to shoot 119-degrees wide photos. The second is a 12MP f/1.8 main camera and the following is a 2MP portrait lens and the fourth is the new 2MP macro lens. Using the macro lens, you capture close-up photos within 4cm range. Other than that, with the 12MP main camera, you can record videos in 4K resolution at 30fps.
Under the hood, is Snapdragon 665 AIE which gives a performance increase of 20% compared to the previous MediaTek P60 processor which runs on the current Realme 3. Realme 3 comes with a 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If you wish to expand the storage, you can use microSD cards which supports up to 256GB.
This powerhouse device is being powered by a huge 5,000mAh battery which able to last up to 29.9 days of standby. Which means once you charge the phone if you left it in standby the battery life can last for almost one month. By playing games such as PUBG, the battery can last up to 8.5 hours. You can listen to music and watch YouTube videos for 30.8 and 19.1 hours respectively.
Pricing and Availability
Realme 5 will be launching in India first starting from August 27 next week. You can grab the Realme 5 in two different colours which are Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple. Realme 5 will be available in three different storage sizes. The base models come with a 3GB RAM + 32GB of internal storage for the price of โน9,999 (RM 582.23). The 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage will cost you around โน10,999 (RM640.46) and the highest variant is going for โน11,999 (RM698.69).
Currently, we are still not sure whether Realme 5 will be available in Malaysia soon. But if they plan to launch it we can guarantee this powerhouse device is way cheaper compared to other affordable phones. Let us know your thoughts below.
