After much wait, Maybank has finally announced the Maybank2u app’s shutdown date. The app is officially going to stop working on 28 August 2024. This comes after the bank pulled the app from the App Store in June. Maybank is trying to migrate all of its users to the MAE app.
Services are still available through Maybank2U MY until it is shut down. The bank, however, strongly encourages all users to migrate to the MAE app. The Maybank2u desktop website is still available. Banking services will still be accessible by migrating to the MAE app.
Maybank launched the MAE app in 2019 as an e-wallet service. It then rapidly developed into becoming a banking app within a few years. Added security and lots of features to manage your money, save for goals, and request money.
In addition, it serves with a bill-splitting feature and allows reloads and transfers. This provides a better and more secure banking experience. To change over to the MAE app, there is a need to register for Secure2u. For activation, one has to visit any Maybank ATM.
Upon activation, there is a 12-hour cooling period for security reasons. This step is important in approving transactions. Users should complete this immediately. The change towards MAE, in particular, aims at enhancing the services of digital banking.
Further information can be obtained from Maybank’s official website. In totality, this step initiates a major step in the digital transformation of Maybank. The bank desires to offer its customers a smoother banking experience via the MAE application.
