A few years ago, Facebook buys both Instagram and WhatsApp for $1 billion and $24 billion respectively. It has been more than five years of Facebook acquires these companies. Now, Facebook is planning to attach its name to both its app, Instagram and WhatsApp. This means, soon you can see the tagline in the title of these apps as “Instagram from Facebook” and “WhatsApp from Facebook”.
According to a Facebook spokeswoman, Facebook wants to tell the world that, products and services are part of Facebook. The rebranded titles will start to appear in Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. Facebook has already done the same rebranding for its Workplace app. In the App Store, you can view the Workplace name as “Workplace by Facebook”.
Apart from Workplace app, Facebook has already made the exact changes with the Oculus app. Although Facebook changes the apps name, you might not be able to see the new names in the home screen. The changes can only be seen in the splash screen for these apps.
