Over 180 startups, investors, and venture capitalists participated in the second installment of the Cradle Circle organized by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle). This event served as a platform for founders to showcase their pitches while allowing potential investors and key players in the startup ecosystem to connect and exchange insights.

Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, Acting Group CEO of Cradle, emphasized that Cradle Circle had a dual purpose: facilitating pitching sessions and fostering networking and collaboration among diverse stakeholders. The event aimed to empower startups not only to present their business solutions but also to glean invaluable insights from industry experts.

The initial session, led by Cradle’s Legal team, was titled “From Legal Limbo to Investor Bingo: Decoding Startup Success.” This session delved into the challenges startups encounter when dealing with issues like funding, compliance, and investor attraction. A comprehensive strategy to navigate these challenges and optimize fundraising success was also outlined. The second session, titled ‘Navigating Startup Failures,’ featured startup founders sharing their personal experiences and the hurdles they faced throughout their entrepreneurial journeys.

Norman further elaborated, stating, “Cradle Circle serves as an exceptional avenue for startups to showcase their products within a collaborative and welcoming environment. It supports growth and the cultivation of fresh ideas. We anticipate this event will act as a potent catalyst for growth, providing businesses with the connections and recommendations essential for thriving in today’s fiercely competitive business landscape.”

Juliana Jan, Senior Vice President of Grant and Investment at Cradle, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and engagement within the ecosystem during the second edition of Cradle Circle. This year’s event fostered increased collaboration among ecosystem stakeholders, aligning with Cradle’s mission to build robust relationships and overcome common challenges faced by startups.

“We are thrilled to witness the positive impact this event has had on participating entrepreneurs. They had the chance to pitch for funding and access legal and HR guidance,” said Juliana. She eagerly anticipated incorporating more enriching activities in the upcoming Cradle Circle sessions, providing even greater support to the thriving startup community.
